Why does Steade ask about children, marriage, faith and money?
Steade is for people looking for a long-term partner, and the differences that most often end serious relationships are about plans, not personality: whether to have children, when to marry, the place of faith, and money. Asking up front means we don’t introduce two people whose plans can’t fit. Most of these answers are used only for matching and are never shown on your profile.
What we ask
- Children: whether you want them and, if you do or might, how many and roughly when.
- Marriage: when you’d like to be married.
- Faith: your religion, how much it is part of your life, and how important your partner’s faith is to you.
- Everyday life: diet, including whether your partner needs to eat halal, smoking, drinking and how active you are.
- Money and home: whether you’re more of a saver or a spender, and how you’d expect to share housework if you both work full-time.
Rules that apply to everyone
A few combinations never lead to an introduction, whatever else you have in common. These don’t use up any of your 3 dealbreakers.
- Someone who wants children is never introduced to someone who doesn’t.
- Someone who wants to marry in the next 2 years is never introduced to someone who isn’t sure marriage is for them.
- If you said your partner would need to share your faith, you’re only introduced to people whose religion is one you counted as sharing it. If you added “or be willing to convert”, people who said yes or maybe to converting count too.
- If you said your partner needs to eat halal too, you’re only introduced to people who eat halal.
For the faith and halal rules, the other person’s answer has to be visible to count. A private or missing answer never meets them, in the same way as a dealbreaker.
What’s shown and what isn’t
Your religion, how much faith is part of your life, diet, smoking, drinking and how active you are can appear on your profile, and you can keep most of them private.
These are only ever used for matching and never shown to anyone: whether you want children, how many and when, when you’d like to marry, how important your partner’s faith is, whether you’d consider converting, whether your partner needs to eat halal, your money style and how you’d share housework.
