What is “Life together”?

Life together is an optional set of ten questions about what married life might look like for you: where you’d live, your parents, money and work. We use your answers only to avoid introducing two people with very different plans. They’re never shown on your profile, and you can skip any question you’re unsure about.

What it asks

  • Where you’d like to live after marrying, such as your own place or with your parents for a while
  • Giving your parents a monthly allowance
  • How involved your parents would be in big decisions as a couple
  • What you’d expect to do if a parent needs care later on
  • Whether money would be shared, partly shared or mostly separate
  • Your top two money priorities for the next few years
  • Who would most likely cut back on work after having kids
  • Whether your priority right now is your career, your personal and family life, or a balance
  • Two scales on what matters to you in life

How it’s used

  • Only for matching: Each answer is compared with the other person’s answer to the same question. Closer answers make an introduction a little more likely.
  • A light touch: Together these questions count for much less than children, faith and your core answers. They help choose between people who already fit you, and none of them can be a dealbreaker.
  • Skipped questions don’t count against you. If either of you skipped a question, it’s simply left out.

Change your answers

Go to Profile, then Getting to know you, then Life together. Change any answer and tap Save. It counts from your next introduction.
