About Steade
What is Steade?
Steade is a free dating service in Singapore for people who want a committed relationship. Instead of a feed to swipe, you get at most one introduction twice a week: someone who meets what you both said matters, with up to three plain reasons you were introduced. Chat opens only if you both say yes.
Is Steade really free?
Yes. Signing up, introductions, chat and every safety tool are free, and there is no paid tier, no boosts and nothing to unlock. Free is a standing decision, not a launch offer. Steade is run by Huper Technology, an established Singapore technology company, on servers it already owns and runs, so keeping Steade going isn’t a financial strain and we plan to keep it free for the long term. Money never affects who you are introduced to.
Who can join?
Adults aged 18 and over who live in Singapore, aren’t legally married and want a lasting relationship. If you’re separated or your divorce isn’t final yet, you can join once it is. Steade introduces men and women only; your sex comes from your identity check and can’t be edited. During the pilot, Steade is in English only.
Can I join now?
Yes. Sign-up is open to adults living in Singapore. Introductions start once most members have at least five people who fit them both ways. Until then your profile and preferences stay saved, and we’ll tell you when your first introduction arrives.

Introductions
How does Steade decide who to introduce me to?
Every Tuesday and Friday at 8 pm, Steade looks at everyone’s stated preferences and dealbreakers together and finds the best set of pairings it can, where both people meet each other’s dealbreakers. You get at most one introduction, with up to three factual reasons, such as “You both want children”. You never see scores or rankings.
Why only one person at a time?
Because a feed rewards volume, not attention. One introduction lets you look properly at one person who already meets your dealbreakers, and lets them do the same. If it isn’t right, you pass and can be introduced again in the next round.
What if I don’t get an introduction?
Some rounds won’t have someone who fits what you and another member both asked for. When that happens, Steade tells you plainly and shows when the next round is, instead of filling the gap with a weaker match. Loosening a dealbreaker can widen who you can meet.
What’s the difference between a preference and a dealbreaker?
A preference changes who is ranked higher for you but never rules anyone out. A dealbreaker rules people out completely. Your age range always applies, and you can turn up to three other answers into dealbreakers. Before you switch one on, Steade shows how much it narrows your options.
Will I be introduced to someone who doesn’t want children, or doesn’t share my faith?
Not if those things matter to you. A few rules apply to everyone: someone who wants children is never introduced to someone who doesn’t, and someone who wants to marry within 2 years is never introduced to someone who isn’t sure about marriage. If your partner needs to share your faith or eat halal, you’re only introduced to people who do. These rules don’t use up any of your three dealbreakers.
How long do I have to decide?
48 hours. Neither of you sees the other’s answer until you’ve both decided or the time runs out. If you both accept, chat opens. If either of you passes, the introduction simply ends, without saying who passed or why.

Safety and privacy
How does Steade check identities?
Every member’s identity is checked before they can be introduced to anyone. With Singpass, you agree to share your date of birth, sex and NRIC or FIN number, and you’re verified straight away. Without Singpass, a moderator reviews a photo of your NRIC or Singapore pass and a selfie taken in the app. A check confirms someone is a real adult. It doesn’t tell you their intentions, so reporting and blocking are always one tap away.
What happens to my NRIC or Singapore pass photo?
A moderator uses it to confirm your identity, and the images are deleted as soon as the review is decided, within 7 days at the latest. Steade never stores your NRIC or Singapore pass number in readable form, only a one-way code that stops the same person opening two accounts.
Who can see my profile?
Only the person you’re introduced to. They see your display name, age, photos, bio and the answers you chose to make visible. Nobody can browse members, and the reasons for an introduction never reveal an answer you kept private.
How does Steade protect me from scams?
Every member is identity-checked, chat stays in the app so you never have to share your number, and for a new account’s first 14 days links and phone numbers can’t be sent in chat. Asking for money, crypto or investments breaks the rules. You can end, block or report at any time, and moderators review every report.
Can I pause or delete my account?
Yes. You can pause to sit out future rounds without losing your profile, download a copy of your data, or delete your account from Settings. When you delete it, your profile disappears immediately.
