Steade

How Steade works

One introduction at a time, twice a week. Here’s everything that happens between signing up and your first conversation.

  • Tuesday and Friday
  • 8 pm, Singapore time
  • 48 hours to decide
Create your account

Introductions start once most members have at least five people who fit them both ways. Until then, your profile and preferences are saved.

Tell us what matters

Sign-up takes about 10 minutes: an identity check with Singpass or your NRIC or Singapore pass, a short profile and two photos.

Then set your preferences. Age range and distance always apply, and you can turn up to three other answers into dealbreakers. A preference changes who fits you best; a dealbreaker rules people out, and Steade shows what it costs before you switch it on. You choose who can see each answer.

The round runs at 8 pm

Every Tuesday and Friday at 8 pm, Singapore time, the matching looks at everyone at once. Two people can be introduced only if each is inside the other’s age range, each meets the other’s dealbreakers, and both fit each other’s preferences well enough.

It then picks a stable set of introductions: no two people would both rather have been introduced to each other. Among people who fit you about equally well, someone who has waited longer comes first.

How stable matching works

One person, three reasons

You get at most one introduction: their photos, their profile and up to three plain reasons you were introduced, such as “You both want children”. Never a score.

Reasons never reveal an answer either of you kept private. If no one fitted you both ways this round, we tell you, and you’re in the next one.

Example introduction
Example member photo

Jun Hao, 32

Why you were introduced

  • You both want children
  • You both enjoy hiking and film
  • You’re similarly active

48 hours to decide

Accept or pass, in private. Neither of you sees the other’s answer until you’ve both decided or the time runs out, and we remind you 12 hours before it closes.

  • You both accept

Your conversation opens, and we tell you both.

  • Either of you passes

The introduction ends. Neither of you is told who passed, or why.

  • The 48 hours run out

It closes. If you hadn’t decided, your introductions pause until you tap I’m ready.

Either way, you won’t be introduced to each other again for 90 days.

Talk if you both say yes

Chat opens in the app, so neither of you has to share a phone number to start talking. For a new account’s first 14 days, links and phone numbers can’t be sent.

Either of you can end, block or report at any time, and moderators review every report. While you’re talking to someone, you won’t get new introductions.

What the matching weighs

What counts

  • Age range and dealbreakers, both ways. You only meet someone who fits you and whom you fit.
  • Your preferences against the answers they made visible. Family plans, faith and values count most, then lifestyle, then interests, then money and practical things such as languages.
  • How long you’ve waited, among people who fit you about equally well.

What never counts

  • Photos, looks or attractiveness.
  • Popularity.
  • AI guesses, or anything you haven’t told us.
  • Answers anyone kept private.

A stable round means no two people would both rather have each other. It can’t tell you whether there’ll be a spark. That part is up to the two of you.

Free, and it stays free

Steade is built and run by Huper Technology, an established Singapore technology company, on servers and infrastructure it already owns and runs for its other work. Keeping Steade going costs little, so free is a long-term decision, not a trial that ends once enough people have joined.

  • No paid tier, no boosts, nothing to unlock.
  • Money never affects who you’re introduced to.
  • We don’t sell your data, or use your profile or messages for advertising or to train AI models.

Questions

All questions

Why only one person at a time? Because a feed rewards volume, not attention. One introduction lets you look properly at one person who already meets your dealbreakers, and lets them do the same. If it isn’t right, you pass and can be introduced again in the next round.

What if I don’t get an introduction? Some rounds won’t have someone who fits what you and another member both asked for. When that happens, Steade tells you plainly and shows when the next round is, instead of filling the gap with a weaker match. Loosening a dealbreaker can widen who you can meet.

What’s the difference between a preference and a dealbreaker? A preference changes who is ranked higher for you but never rules anyone out. A dealbreaker rules people out completely. Your age range always applies, and you can turn up to three other answers into dealbreakers. Before you switch one on, Steade shows how much it narrows your options.

Can I join now? Yes. Sign-up is open to adults living in Singapore. Introductions start once most members have at least five people who fit them both ways. Until then your profile and preferences stay saved, and we’ll tell you when your first introduction arrives.
