About Steade
Steade introduces adults in Singapore who want a committed relationship to one person at a time. The name is an old spelling of “stead”, as in steady and steadfast.
Why it exists
Swipe apps reward volume. People browse hundreds of profiles, match with a few, and most matches never become a conversation. Many people who want something serious stop using them because it feels like a chore. Matchmakers offer fewer, better introductions, but at a price many people won’t pay.
Steade tries a different trade: you wait a few days, and in return you get one introduction to someone who meets what you both said matters, with the reasons spelled out.
What we hold ourselves to
- One at a time. No feed, no queue, no browsing.
- The truth about waiting. When there’s no introduction for you, we say so and explain why.
- Explainable, never magical. You see factual reasons, never scores, ranks or popularity.
- Safety without suspicion. Every member’s identity is checked, and reporting and blocking are always within reach.
- Free means free. Nothing is paywalled, boosted or sold, and money never affects who is introduced.
We won’t promise you a soulmate or a perfect match. Matching can find people who meet each other’s stated wishes. Whether there’s a spark is up to the two of you.
How a free service is paid for
Steade runs on servers and infrastructure that Huper Technology, an established Singapore technology company, already owns and runs for its other work. That keeps Steade’s running costs low, so free isn’t a trial: it’s how we plan to run Steade for the long term. There are no ads in chat, we never sell your data, and there is no paid tier planned. If we ever accept donations, they will never change who you’re introduced to or what you can do.

Founder
Vincent Emmanuel Lee is the founder of Steade and a Singapore technology entrepreneur who has run his own software company for more than 20 years. He is a partner in Singapore’s largest pet retail chain, a founding partner of GoGoShip, and the founder of GoDrop.
