How do I meet someone from Steade safely?
Keep chatting on Steade until you’re comfortable, and remember you never have to share your number. For the first meeting, choose a public place, tell a friend where you’ll be, and get there and home on your own. Never send money or investments to anyone you’ve met here, however good the reason sounds.
Before you meet
- Take your time in chat. There’s no deadline for meeting. Steade’s chat stays open until one of you ends it.
- Keep your details to yourself until you’re ready. You don’t need to share your number, address or workplace to arrange a first meeting.
- Remember what verification means. Every member’s identity has been checked, so you know they’re a real adult. It doesn’t tell you their intentions.
On the day
- Meet in a public place for the first time.
- Tell a friend where you’ll be and who you’re meeting.
- Get there on your own, and make your own way home.
If something feels wrong
- You can leave at any time. You don’t owe anyone a second meeting.
- End the conversation, block or report from the menu at the top of the chat.
- If you’re in danger, call 999 for the police or 995 for an ambulance. Steade isn’t an emergency service.
