What does it mean that every member is verified?
It means a real adult’s identity was confirmed before their profile went live, by a moderator checking an NRIC or Singapore pass against a selfie taken in the app. It also stops one person from opening two accounts. It doesn’t tell you what someone intends, so the community rules apply to everyone.
What verification confirms
- They’re a real person. A moderator matched their selfie to their document photo.
- They’re 18 or over. Their date of birth comes from their document.
- Their sex: Steade introduces men to women, so this comes from the document too.
- One account each: Each identity can be linked to only one Steade account.
What it doesn’t confirm
- Their intentions
- That they’re single: every member confirms they aren’t legally married, but the identity check doesn’t prove it. If you learn someone is married, report them and choose “Is married”.
- That everything in their bio is true
- That they’re safe to meet
So take your time, keep chatting on Steade until you’re comfortable, and use report and block if anything feels wrong.
Photos are checked too
A moderator checks every photo before anyone sees it. Photos that aren’t approved are never shown.
