Why am I not getting notifications?

Start with Steade’s Settings: check that Push notifications is on for this device and Email is on. If push won’t turn on, your browser may be blocking notifications for Steade. On an iPhone, push works only when Steade is added to your Home Screen and opened from there. For email, check your spam folder.

Push notifications

  1. Check Settings. Go to Profile, tap the settings icon, and look at Push notifications. It shows how many devices have it on.
  2. Turn it on for this device. Push is set up per device. If you’ve changed phones or browsers, turn it on again there.
  3. Allow notifications in your browser. If Steade says notifications are blocked, allow them for steade.app in your browser or phone settings, then turn push on again.
  4. On iPhone, use the home screen app. Add Steade to your Home Screen from Safari, open it from the icon, and turn push on there.
  5. Turn it off and on again. This sets up your device afresh.

Email

  1. Check that Email is on in Settings.
  2. Check spam or junk for emails from hello@steade.app, and mark them as not spam.
  3. Message emails are delayed on purpose. For a new message, we email only if it’s still unread after 10 minutes and push didn’t reach you, and at most once an hour per conversation.

Notifications look empty

That’s deliberate. Notifications never include the other person’s name or details. Open Steade to see what’s new.

Still nothing?

Check Home in Steade every Tuesday and Friday after 8 pm, and email hello@steade.app so we can look into it.
