Steade vs Kopi Date
Kopi Date is a Singapore service where a person on its team hand-picks your match and books a coffee date at a partner café, in memberships of 3, 6 or 12 dates from S$80 a date. Steade picks one introduction twice a week from what you both said matters, checks every member’s identity, and is free. You plan the date yourselves.

The main difference
Kopi Date says it is “not a dating app” and “not a matchmaking agency”. You start with a free conversation with its team, who get to know you and hand-curate each date, “no AI, robots, or secret algorithms”. The team books a table at a partner café and tells you where two to three days before. A membership covers one date a month.
Steade has no team choosing for you, and no fee. You set your preferences and up to three dealbreakers, and every Tuesday and Friday at 8 pm a matching round looks for one person who fits what you both want. You see their profile and up to three reasons, and if you both accept, you chat in the app and plan the date between you.

Is Kopi Date a dating app or an agency?
Kopi Date describes itself as neither. It calls itself a service that curates offline coffee dates, with a team that hand-picks matches and books the café. Steade is a free online service that sends one introduction at a time from what both people stated.
Does Kopi Date check identity?
Kopi Date says every member is curated, screened and personally onboarded, but doesn’t describe an identity document check. Steade requires every member to verify with Singpass, or with an NRIC or Singapore pass and a selfie reviewed by a moderator, before they can meet anyone.
Is Steade connected to Kopi Date?
No. Steade is operated by Huper Technology Pte Ltd and has no connection to Kopi Date.
