Steade vs Hinge
Hinge shows you a feed of profiles to like or comment on, with paid plans for unlimited likes. Steade has no feed. Twice a week it sends at most one introduction, chosen from what you both said matters, with up to three reasons. Steade is free, and every member’s identity is checked.

The main difference
On Hinge, you choose who to like. You scroll Discover, like or comment on a photo or prompt, and you match when the other person accepts. Hinge also tries to send one Most Compatible recommendation a day. Free members can send a limited number of likes each day; Hinge+ and HingeX remove the limit.
On Steade, you don’t pick from a list. You set your preferences and up to three dealbreakers on top of your age range. Every Tuesday and Friday at 8 pm, a matching round looks for one person who fits what you both want. If there’s no good fit that round, you don’t get an introduction, and we tell you so.

- You’re tired of scrolling and would rather get one considered introduction.
- You want everyone you meet to have had their identity checked.
- You want to know why you were introduced, in plain facts rather than a score.
- You don’t want to pay for likes or visibility.
Questions
Is Steade free like Hinge?
Hinge is free to use and sells Hinge+ and HingeX plans. Steade is free for everyone. It has no paid tier and none is planned, so money never affects who is introduced.
Does Hinge check identity the way Steade does?
Hinge offers voluntary Selfie Verification, which compares a video selfie with your profile photos. Steade checks every member’s identity before they can meet anyone, with Singpass or with an NRIC or Singapore pass and a selfie reviewed by a moderator. On both, verification confirms who someone is, not their intentions.
What if I don’t like my Steade introduction?
Pass. Neither of you sees the other’s answer until you’ve both decided or the 48 hours run out. You’re in the next round.
Does Steade offer same-sex introductions?
No. Steade introduces men and women only, and says so before sign-up. If you want same-sex introductions, Bumble describes itself as for straight, gay, lesbian and queer daters.
When does Steade open?
Sign-up is open now. Introductions start once most members have at least five people who fit them both ways. Until then your profile and preferences are saved, and we’ll tell you when your first introduction arrives.
